Pickleball in North Platte, Nebraska
North Platte has a substantial mix of outdoor, indoor, public, and reservable pickleball. The 14-court complex at Cody Park is the city's primary outdoor destination, while Memorial Park has four dedicated courts for smaller sessions. Indoors, the North Platte Recreation Center supports reservable courts and leagues, and Axes & Aces offers three dedicated courts that can be booked.
Court capacity is not the same as organized play. Players arriving alone should use North Platte Pickleball or the North Platte-Ogallala-Brule PlayTime Scheduler to find an actual session. Two upcoming club tournaments at Cody Park, Queen of the Court on September 19 and the Fall Classic on September 26, 2026, may also affect court availability.
North Platte Pickleball Courts and Facilities
- Cody Park Pickleball and Tennis Courts, 1601 N. Jeffers Street. The new city complex has 14 pickleball courts and eight competition tennis courts. It is the strongest outdoor choice for a large group, league, or tournament, but open courts do not guarantee a drop-in rotation. Nearby park amenities include restrooms, concessions, picnic space, a playground, and other Cody Park attractions. See Cody Park court details.
- Memorial Park, 1102 W. 4th Street. This neighborhood park has four dedicated outdoor pickleball courts and two tennis courts, plus a playground and picnic space. It is useful when Cody Park is hosting an event or when a four-court setting is enough for your group. View Memorial Park information.
- North Platte Recreation Center, 1300 S. McDonald Road. The city lists reservable indoor pickleball courts and leagues for all skill levels. The current program page shows a $3 pickleball fee, but no open-play entries appear on the September 2026 calendar. Call 308-535-6772 to confirm the setup, number of available courts, reservation rules, and next organized session. Check Recreation Center pickleball.
- Axes & Aces, 675 N. Lake Road. This commercial entertainment venue near Lake Maloney has three lighted indoor pickleball courts with permanent lines and nets. Games require reservations, and players supply their own paddles and balls. Call 308-221-1040 or reserve online. Reserve indoor court time.
Beginner Programs and Skill Building
Beginners should contact North Platte Pickleball and ask for the next Beginning Pickleball or Skills & Drills session. Those sessions are listed as a club membership benefit, along with access to balls and equipment at Memorial Park. Individual membership is listed at $25 per year and family membership at $52 per year.
The club's classes page currently says there is nothing to book, so do not arrive expecting a clinic without confirmation. The Recreation Center is another practical call at 308-535-6772 for the next city league or beginner-friendly court time. Check current club classes. For private instruction, use this site's Coaches section.
Open Play, Club Sessions, and 2026 Tournaments
North Platte Pickleball is the central organizer for local leagues, classes, social play, and tournaments. A fixed public open-play schedule was not confirmed for September 2026, and the Recreation Center's current calendar has no published pickleball sessions. The club's Facebook group and PlayTime Scheduler are therefore more useful than simply showing up at an outdoor court.
The club lists two upcoming Cody Park events: Queen of the Court, an all-women fundraiser, on Saturday, September 19 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and the Fall Classic on Saturday, September 26 from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Check registration status and court closures before planning casual play on either date. See current North Platte Pickleball events.
Joining a Game While Visiting North Platte
Solo visitors should start with the North Platte Pickleball Club or the regional PlayTime Scheduler. Ask for a session matching your level and whether it uses an open rotation. The scheduler shows current player-arranged games and lists Cody Park, Memorial Park, the Recreation Center, and Axes & Aces. Find a scheduled North Platte game.
If you already have partners, Cody Park provides the most outdoor capacity and Memorial Park offers a quieter four-court alternative. For weather-proof play, reserve Axes & Aces and bring equipment, or call the Recreation Center about a $3 session. During the September 19 and 26 tournaments, verify which Cody Park courts remain available before heading over.
